Dear Dyllan:
It seems that I was completely wrong about the character of Anamaria. She completely fooled me there. And where I thought she was kind and laughing with a smart attitude and her wits about her, I find that she is really cold and cruel, and loves nothing more than to harp on the Navy and insist that piracy, of all things, is a better occupation! She even had the nerve to call Andrew Norrington's...well, for propriety's sake, I'll stave off the last part, but you can guess what the word was! How dare she even pretend that she can conceive of the bonds that I have with my friends?
You know as well as I that the Navy is all I have! Mister Richard Groves DID disown me after all...and Andrew has been a close friend since even the earily years in the Navy when we were midshipmen and he could barely speak a word of English! Norrington James, I have to start calling him James. He's not a Commodore anymore, after all. Anyway, James has become a more recent confidant, up until the hurricane. Lord knows what shape he's in now, and as I watch Andrew's apprehension grow, I can almost feel my own increasing. I do hope he's alright...my friends are all I have after all. They are my family. And you always put family before anything else. Always! Because I know they would do the same for me. I don't even have to question it, Dyllan! I know where their loyalties lie! I don't, like a pirate, have to guess and check every decision of anothers because I'm not certain if they'll be behind me to support me if I need it. I know they will!
Truthfully, Dyllan, I do not know what I would do without them. I suppose Ana's right in one respect: I would be nothing without Andrew and James. I have nothing without Andrew and James. I guess that's why I did trot after Andrew on this crazy journey to find James. I just hope we have found him before it's too late.
Sincerely, Jonathan Groves |

Dear Dyllan:
We have been sailing for a few weeks now, and I believe we have finally happened upon the Black Pearl! Andrew was so excited when he spotted it that he nearly fell off the rail.
The ship seems to be foating out in the shallows by a small island...lord only knows what Sparrow and Norrington and them could be doing on that island, but I suppose we are about to find out. Wish us luck!
Sincerely,
Jonathan Groves |

Update on Groves, new stuff is in italics:
My Groves:
-Is a playboy
-Doesn't pay too much attention to the rules
-Thinks that Gillette's a little stiff, and is puzzled why he is suddenly bending the rules.
-Is intrigued by Anamaria
-Loves sex. (may as well get that out there)
-Likes people to get along.
-Is a peacekeeper
-Despite being a peacekeeper, he loves adventure. He thrives on it
-Did not believe in ghosts or other-worldly workings until he met Barbossa's crew back then
-Secretly admires Jack Sparrow, but would never tell Gillette that because he thinks the other man would bite his head off
-Came from a rich family, but did not want to join the family business, so he joined the Navy, and has been disowned for it
-Thinks of his friends as his family, which explains why he's going after Norrington instead of trying to get his job back at Port Royal
-Tries to be as polite and have a decent amount of chivalry to any woman he meets
-Has a decent tollerance for alcohol, though it's not THAT good.
-Can sometimes be a hypocrit in terms of love
-Despite their obvious differences and constant arguements, he thinks of Gillette as one of his closest friends
-His loyalty is easily won and even more easily lost. |

- A Grovesometer is used to measure Groves. um....what?
- It takes forty minutes to hard-boil Groves. .............NO COMMENT

In a letter to a freind from Port Royal:
Dear Dyllan:
It seems that the plan to successfully commandeer a ship has been put into motion, though not without a few hitches. Andrew, the damn man, thought it would be a good idea to butt heads with Ana before we left, but I am amused to report that the young woman got the best of him. I believe Andrew's...er...shall we say, affection for Norrington as thuroughly bested him this time, as Ana used it to, quite frankly, shut him up. Needless to say, it destracted him quite well from what they were argueing about, which was whether Ana was captain or not. Truely, I do not mind the lady being captain, but I think it disconcerts Andrew a little bit because the only female captains that are known of thus far are pirates. Then again, what are we? We have sailed to Tortuga, made an accord with a woman who could very well be a pirate, commandeered the very ship that brought us to Tortuga in the first place, and have set off sail to find and Ex-Commodore, who is in the company of one Jack Sp- pardon me - Captain Jack Sparrow.
Of course, I would never point this out to Andrew unless I wanted my ear-drums broken from his infernal and constant yelling. My, that man does have quite the temper.
Another thing that is beginning to concern me is the effect Ana has on me. I must confess that, though I barily know the woman at all, her smile has the very power to make my heart ache a bit, so that it stops me in my tracks, and I am almost struck dumb. I can only wonder at this power. Wonder, and be made fearful of it.
Sincerely, Jonathan Groves |

Yeah, that's about it. He's pretty easy-going, and loves to have fun, and loves adventure. |

In a letter to a friend from Port Royal:
Dear Dyllan,
I am shocked to report that Hell has finally frozen over. Andrew Gillette, the strictest man in His Majesty's entire Navy, has decided to break the rules and commandeer a ship. I'm almost tempted to call him a "pirate", however, I fear that would be going a bit too far. We have teamed up with a woman named Anamaria; she is a bossy, sassy, very interesting young woman, and I can proclaim my interest piqued, though not in that manner. She calls herself a captain, though I am not sure what ship she's ever really been a captain of.
So now, Dyllan, I am getting dragged along for this crazy ride. I am going to watch (an help, I suppose)Andrew commandeer a ship. I just wish there were someway to capture it for the record books.
Sincerely, Jonathan Groves |
